The Truth of Suffering (Dukkha) — The Symptom
The system is in a state of friction. Dukkha is often translated as "suffering," but its etymological root refers to a "badly fitting axle" on a wheel. It is the Cacophony of a system that is out of alignment.
The Realization: Life inherently involves "off-center" experiences—birth, aging, loss, and the fundamental unsatisfactoriness of temporary things.
2. The Truth of the Origin (Samudaya) — The Root Cause
The friction is caused by Tanha (craving or attachment). In systems terms, this is a Feedback Loop gone wrong. We try to freeze a dynamic system into a static state, which creates resistance.
The Mechanics: We crave for things to stay the same (Stasis) or for them to be different (Aversion). This attachment acts as the Entropy that drains the system's energy.
In Systems Thinking, the Four Noble Truths represent the transition from a state of Entropy (disorder and friction) to a state of Homeostasis (balance and liberation).
Researcher Note:
The Four Noble Truths lead to the Zero Point of the mind. By acknowledging that everything is in a state of flux (Anicca) and has no permanent self (Anatta), the system stops trying to "grasp" at shadows. The Energy Leak stops, and the practitioner achieves a state of Mastery.
